WAMPEX 2026: Connecting Industry, Engineering Excellence, and the Future of Mining

From local engineering innovation to the future of a data-driven mining workforce, Day 1 and Day 2 of WAMPEX 2026 provided a powerful platform for MAC Partners Group to connect, share expertise, and contribute to conversations shaping the future of the industry.

WAMPEX 2026 brought together industry leaders, mining companies, local contractors, technical professionals, partners, and stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.

For MAC Partners Group, the event has been an opportunity to showcase capabilities, exchange ideas, build relationships, and engage in important conversations about the future of mining and engineering.

DAY 1: CONNECTING WITH THE INDUSTRY

The first day of WAMPEX 2026 created an energetic environment for networking and collaboration.

Throughout the day, MAC Partners Group welcomed industry leaders, mining companies, local contractors, partners, and other stakeholders to its booth.

The conversations provided opportunities to explore potential collaborations, exchange industry knowledge, and discuss solutions relevant to the evolving needs of the mining sector.

But beyond the meetings and introductions, one of the day’s most significant moments took place at the Innovation Hub.

Local Engineering Excellence Takes Centre Stage

A major highlight of Day 1 was the Innovation Hub session featuring Thomas K. Owusu, Technical Director of MAC Engineering Projects and Consultancy.

His presentation, “Local Engineering Excellence: Traversing Design to Construction,” highlighted the capabilities and expertise available within Ghana’s local engineering ecosystem.

The session explored the journey from engineering design through to practical project execution, demonstrating how local technical expertise can contribute to the delivery of complex industrial projects.

From Design To A 100TPH CIL Plant

A key case study presented during the session was the design and construction of a 100TPH Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) plant for Northern Ashanti Mines in Konongo.

The project provided a practical example of how engineering concepts can move from design stages into physical infrastructure and operational application.

It also demonstrated the importance of technical expertise, project execution, engineering coordination, and practical problem-solving in delivering industrial projects.

For the wider mining industry, such examples highlight the potential of local engineering professionals and companies to contribute meaningfully to major projects.

DAY 2: Shaping The Workforce Of The Future

Day 2 continued with strong engagement as industry professionals, partners, and stakeholders visited the MAC Partners Group booth to learn more about the Group’s solutions, capabilities, and areas of expertise.

The conversations continued to reinforce the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing as the mining and energy sectors navigate a rapidly changing technological landscape.

One of the day’s major highlights, however, focused on a question that will increasingly define the future of industry:

Are today’s mining and energy professionals equipped with the skills required for Industry 4.0?

Reskilling For Industry 4.0

MAC Partners Group CEO, Dr. Seth Quaye, participated in a panel discussion titled:

“Reskilling Today’s Mining and Energy Workforce for Industry 4.0: From Equipment Operation to Data-Driven Decision Making.”

The discussion examined the changing skills landscape within the mining and energy sectors and the need to prepare professionals for increasingly technology-driven workplaces.

As industrial operations become more connected and data-driven, professionals are increasingly required to combine traditional technical knowledge with capabilities in areas such as digital technologies, data interpretation, automation, and informed decision-making.

The conversation placed a strong emphasis on workforce development and continuous skills transformation as important components of industry progress.

Building Connections That Create Impact

WAMPEX 2026 has provided MAC Partners Group with more than an exhibition platform.

It has created opportunities for conversations that can develop into partnerships, collaborations, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and new approaches to solving industry challenges.

From discussions at the exhibition booth to presentations at the Innovation Hub and conversations around Industry 4.0, the message remains consistent:

The future of mining will require collaboration, innovation, local expertise, and a workforce prepared to evolve.

The Journey Continues

As WAMPEX 2026 continues, MAC Partners Group looks forward to further opportunities to engage with industry stakeholders, exchange knowledge, explore partnerships, and contribute to conversations shaping the future of mining and engineering.

We extend our appreciation to everyone who visited our booth, participated in discussions, shared ideas, and engaged with our team throughout Days 1 and 2.

From local engineering excellence to Industry 4.0 workforce transformation, the future is being built through knowledge, collaboration, and continuous innovation.

And the conversation continues.
