The Community Youth Apprenticeship Program was first initiated by the AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi mine at the former Engineering Training Centre, now MAC Partners Training Institute. The CYAP aims to train and equip community members with comprehensive engineering and technical skills.
The program offers various courses, including Mechanical, Electrical, Welding and Fabrication, as well as Industrial Automation and Machine Operator Training. These courses provide a well-rounded education, with a focus on practical skills.
The Community Youth Apprenticeship Program (CYAP) offers a comprehensive one-year, full-time training in a selected engineering field, blending 30% theoretical foundations with 70% practical, hands-on experience.
In 2024, MPTI trained 155 learners through the CYAP, with AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi sponsoring 100, and AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem and Goldfields Ghana Foundation adding 40 and 15 learners, respectively.
We at MPTI are proud to facilitate this noble initiative, giving back to communities and restoring hope in lives. By providing comprehensive engineering and technical training, we’re empowering a new generation of skilled professionals.
