Ghana’s mining industry continues to evolve, driven by the need for stronger local participation, greater industrial capacity, innovation, and a highly skilled workforce.
The Mining Industry and Marketing Expo (MIME) 2025, organized by the Ghana Chamber of Mines and hosted at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, provided an important platform for industry leaders, mining companies, support businesses, professionals, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for advancing Ghana’s mining value chain.
For MAC Partners Group, participation in the Expo as a Silver Sponsor represented more than visibility. It was an opportunity to demonstrate how deliberate investment in local industry and human capital can contribute to the long-term transformation of Ghana’s mining sector.

Opening A Platform For Industry Dialogue
The Expo commenced with opening remarks from Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, and Prof. Grace Ofori-Sarpong Akuffo, FGA, Provost of the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa.
Their participation set the tone for an event centred on collaboration, knowledge exchange, innovation, and the continued development of Ghana’s mining industry.
As mining becomes increasingly sophisticated, platforms such as MIME create valuable opportunities for stakeholders to examine emerging challenges, share industry knowledge, and identify practical pathways for strengthening the sector.

MAC Partners Group: Turning Local Content Into Action
One of the key highlights of the Expo was MAC Partners Group’s participation in the Learning Academy session, where Business Development Manager Quaye Raymond delivered a presentation focused on the Group’s advocacy for local content within Ghana’s mining industry.
For MAC Partners Group, local content extends beyond policy discussions. It is reflected in tangible investments designed to strengthen Ghanaian industrial capacity and develop the people required to sustain it.
This approach recognizes that a stronger mining value chain requires more than the extraction of mineral resources. It requires local businesses, technical expertise, manufacturing capability, engineering services, and skilled professionals capable of supporting the industry from within.

Strengthening Local Industrial Capacity Through ALQU
A significant demonstration of this commitment is the establishment of ALQU Rubber and Engineering Solutions.
The initiative reflects an investment in strengthening local industrial capability and creating solutions that support the wider mining and engineering ecosystem.
Building local capacity means developing the ability to provide products, services, and technical solutions within Ghana while creating opportunities for knowledge transfer, enterprise development, and industrial growth.
Through initiatives such as ALQU, MAC Partners Group is contributing to a broader vision of a mining industry supported by stronger local supply chains and technical capabilities.

Day 2: From Conversations To Action
As Day 2 of MIME 2025 concluded, the Expo reinforced an important message: industry conversations become meaningful when they lead to commitment, collaboration, and practical action.
Throughout the event, MAC Partners Group engaged with mining companies, support and allied businesses, industry professionals, partners, and visitors who shared perspectives on the future of Ghana’s mining sector.
The discussions provided an opportunity to explore the challenges facing the industry while highlighting the importance of partnerships in developing solutions that can strengthen the mining value chain.

Collaboration As A Driver Of Mining Transformation
No single organization can transform an industry alone.
The continued development of Ghana’s mining sector requires collaboration between mining companies, suppliers, technical institutions, training organizations, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and other industry stakeholders.
MIME 2025 provided a valuable environment for these conversations to take place.
The presence of diverse industry stakeholders demonstrated the importance of creating platforms where knowledge, experience, technology, and opportunities can intersect.

Building Capacity. Developing People. Advancing Mining.
MAC Partners Group extends its appreciation to the Ghana Chamber of Mines and the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, for creating a platform that brought together stakeholders from across the mining ecosystem.
Special recognition goes to Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, Rosaline Nutsugah, Angela Tetteh, and the many mining, support, and allied companies whose participation contributed to the success of the Expo.
To the numerous visitors, partners, and industry professionals who engaged with MAC Partners Group at the booth, thank you for the conversations, insights, and shared commitment to progress.
The future of Ghana’s mining industry will be shaped not only by what we extract, but by the skills we develop, the businesses we build, the technologies we advance, and the local capacity we create.
