A skilled workforce is one of the strongest foundations for sustainable economic development. When young people are given access to quality training, practical experience, and meaningful opportunities, they gain more than qualifications. They gain the capacity to build careers, support their communities, and contribute to the growth of Ghana’s industries.
On 27 November 2025, the GOLD FIELDS Ghana Foundation marked an important milestone with the graduation of 15 trainees from its Community Youth Apprenticeship Programme, delivered in partnership with MAC Partners Training Institute (MPTI).
The graduation represents more than the completion of a training programme. It is a celebration of skills, resilience, opportunity, and the potential of young people to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s mining and industrial sectors.

Building Skills For The Future
The Community Youth Apprenticeship Programme was designed to equip young people with practical and industry-relevant competencies in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering.
Throughout the programme, trainees gained both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience designed to prepare them for the realities of the workplace.
For industries such as mining, where technical competence, safety, precision, and reliability are essential, developing a skilled talent pipeline is critical.
The programme therefore connects education with practical industry needs, helping trainees move from potential to professional capability.

Beyond Technical Training
The impact of the programme extends beyond technical skills.
At its core, the initiative represents an investment in human capital and community development.
By providing young people with access to structured technical training, the programme contributes to employability, reduces barriers to meaningful work, and creates pathways for participants to build sustainable careers.
A trained young person is not only better prepared for employment.

MPTI: Turning Potential Into Opportunity
As an accredited training institution, MAC Partners Training Institute (MPTI) is proud to have played a role in the development of this cohort.
MPTI provides an environment where technical knowledge is supported by practical learning, mentorship, discipline, and industry exposure.
This approach is essential because technical education becomes most valuable when learners can apply what they have been taught to real-world situations.
The objective is not simply to train students to pass assessments.
It is to prepare them to work, solve problems, operate safely, adapt to changing technologies, and contribute effectively within industry.

Celebrating Excellence And Leadership
The graduation ceremony also provided an opportunity to recognize trainees who demonstrated exceptional performance and leadership throughout the programme.
The outstanding award recipients included:
⭐ Best Female in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering: Gifty Ayebah-Blay
⭐ Best Male in Safety: Joseph Ghartey
⭐ Best Female in Leadership Skills: Gifty Ayebah-Blay
⭐ Best Male in Domestic & Industrial Electricals: James Le-maire
These achievements reflect the discipline, commitment, resilience, and determination demonstrated by the graduating cohort.
Their accomplishments also reinforce the importance of giving young people the right environment in which their abilities can be developed and recognized.

Looking Ahead
The graduation of these 15 trainees marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
They now carry forward the technical knowledge, practical skills, and experience gained throughout their training as they pursue opportunities within Ghana’s industrial and mining ecosystem.
For MPTI, the journey continues.
We remain committed to working with industry partners and development-focused organizations to equip young people with practical skills, strengthen local capacity, and build a future-ready workforce for Ghana.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the GOLD FIELDS Ghana Foundation for its continued investment in youth development and for partnering with MPTI to create meaningful opportunities for young people.
Because when we train young people, we do more than prepare individuals for work. We strengthen communities and build the workforce that will shape tomorrow’s industry.
